D-03 Sugawara Family of Higashi Matsushima City, Miyagi Pref.

They have been working rescuing cats and finding people to adopt cats even before the earthquake. After the earthquake, they took charge of those animals whose owners were not able to keep them and cats whose owner died. . It has grown to include two dogs and 40 cats. They are paying all medical costs for treatments, vaccinations and sterilization by themselves. Please help them with foods and sanitary materials.

Animal Rescue Team's support of personnel or organizations who rescue animals using Amazon Wish List ended on March 31, 2015.
Thank you for your warm and continual support.

Message from Sugawara Family

The mother, 15 years old Pu-chan, and daughter, 14 year old Kobo-chan, look like twins. Because of the earthquake, their owners are not able to live with them, so we took them in, and reformed the cat house from two rooms to three. We are volunteers for rescuing dogs and cats and finding people to adopt them.  We had a prefabricated cat house before the earthquake.

The prefabricated house was swept away by the tsunami with eight cats inside, fortunately the house stayed afloat and all cats survived.

This is the prefab house what we call Cat house. We purchased this secondhand two years ago for stray cats. My husband, a do-it-yourselfer, reformed it into three divided rooms. Ten cats are living here. After the earthquake, we have been taking care of cats whose owners can not keep them and stray cats who are missing their owners. Now we have one big dog, one middle size dog and 40 cats.

We have been very busy with sterilizations, vaccinations and finding people to adopt them. Since this all costs money any support you can offer in supplies like food and cat litter etc. is a great help.

Thank you very much.

It has been more than a year since the earthquake and Tsunami but we still see many animals wandering about.

To continue our rescue efforts, we sincerely need your continued support.
